Keratin

A keratin treatment is a hair-smoothing procedure that infuses keratin protein into the hair, reducing frizz, adding shine, and making hair more manageable for several weeks. It's popular for achieving sleek, straight hair while improving overall hair health.

  • Smooth, frizz-free, glossy hair t

Experience the sleekest, straightest hair of your life with no heat tools, products, or upkeep. It lasts for 3 to 6 months as your hair grows out. Brazilian Keratin Treatments smooth and fill the porosity of your hair while providing it with the protein we've lost from age or chemical treatments. Lack of protein in the hair contributes to a dry, damaged, and frizzy appearance.

The cells that overlap to form your hair strands are smoothed down by keratin, which is a protein. The hair cuticle absorbs the keratin, resulting in full and glossy-looking locks. This treatment lasts 3 to 6 months, depending on proper aftercare and how long it takes for your hair to grow out. Sulfate-free shampoo are recommended on Keratin-treated hair.

  • Haircare doesn’t stop with keratin-treated hair. It’s an ongoing process, the first three days of which are crucial. While keratin hair treatments solve your frizzy, wavy hair problems, you have to provide your hair with the right conditions to get the most out of your treatment. How long the smoothing treatment lasts is entirely dependent on how you handle the aftercare.

  • It is commonplace to need to wait three days before using water post keratin treatment, but we do not use this technique anymore, Brazilian Keratin Treatment refrains from keeping chemicals on the hair for 3 days and doing so is an old-school technique. Our products are heat-activated and Brazilian made, so once we straighten the hair, that's it. We wash the client's hair straight after the treatment, so we can show the real result.

  • Other salons may require you to wait for 3 days before you can make any impressions on the hair because they leave the product in during this time

Because we wash the hair straight after the treatment, you can tie the hair up. As long as you wash the hair after the treatment, you can do whatever you like to your hair, including:

    • Using hair clips

    • Tying the hair back

    • Wearing sunglasses

    • Wearing hats

    • Braiding the hair

    • Using hair accessories such as headbands

  • Once the treatment has been washed out, we recommend using salon-quality shampoo and conditioner. Opt for hydration, moisture, and nourishment daily. Use a repair mask every second week or once per week if you're blonde.

We recommend using BKT for shampoo and conditioner, as well as styling products. We sell these brands in-store. These Brazilian Keratin Treatment after care products will give you the best results and help the treatment to last longer:

  • We NEED sulfates in our hair - not necessarily every day but every now and then, we use them ALL in salon..

Some keratins require sulphate free shampoo to limit the keratin being pulled out of the hair. We will guide you on this in salon.

A general rule is If you wash more often, you can use sulfate-free. Products can build-up on our hair. In that case, sulfate-free shampoos can be too gentle.

SULFATES to the rescue!! They do a good job of thoroughly cleansing the hair and getting that build up off so hair can breathe and products will work

The secret is balance. If you opt for shampoos that contain sulfates, make sure they are salon quality. Salon quality brands treat your hair in the long term.

BKT Nanoplasty

Nanoplasty is a hair straightening treatment that uses nano-sized particles and heat to penetrate the hair shaft, providing long-lasting straightening, smoothing, and shine without harsh chemicals like formaldehyde. It's a gentler alternative to traditional keratin treatments, suitable for various hair types.

  • A new type of straightening Nanoplastia (Nanoplasty) is a hair restoration and a new alternative to keratin treatment, which has a more organic formula. Nanoplasty achieves the same or an even better result than a keratin treatment, which is to permanently straighten and smooth the hair.

Nanoplasty is also safe for pregnant women and kids from 7 years old, because it doesn’t contain harsh chemicals or formaldehyde. The desired effects of Nanoplasty can last up to 5-6 months or until your hair grows out.

This treatment restores and nourishes your hair, leaving you with a healthy, silky appearance. The products for Nanoplasty are saturated to the maximum of beneficial substances and supplemented with harmless chemical elements that facilitate penetration into the hair and interact at the cellular level. The formula for this procedure is rich in amino acids, which under the action of temperature, penetrate the cortical layer of the hair. Therefore, the structure of the hair becomes strong and the nutrients are integrated in the hair, strengthening and healing it from the inside.

  • The sole difference between keratin and nanoplasty is the chemical makeup of each treatment. While our keratin treatment does not contain formaldehyde, it does contain more chemicals than nanoplastia, which is made up of amino acids and collagen.

Nanoplasty not only straightens the hair but also heals it from inside out. It is made of natural vegan ingredients including organic acids, açai and linseed oil. It does not contain any harsh chemicals, formaldehyde releasers, carbocysteine and all nasties.

It combines two acids to create the perfect smooth, manageable, hydrated hair.

BKT Nanoplastia will leave your hair with a glossy but natural effect. Although it does make the hair straight, you will not lose volume (your hair won't be flat) and movement.

Both treatments are very effective; a keratin treatment can last up to 3-6 months whereas the nanoplasty treatment lasts up to 4-8 months or as your hair grows out.

While both keratin and Nanoplasty treatments will smooth and straighten your hair, the ideal candidate for Keratin treatment is someone with thick hair. Nanoplasty is a better treatment for those with thin or fine hair, assuming that it is not damaged.

Whether you’re interested in balayage, foils, baby-lights, foilage, root smudge, colour melt, or lowlights, each technique provides unique results. Often, the ideal outcome is a blend of these methods to perfectly suit you.

  • At Edna Violet Hair and Beauty Parlour, our experienced colorists will thoroughly consult with you to understand your desired look. We’ll review examples, discuss your preferences, and tailor a combination of techniques and color formulas to suit your hair type, skin tone, and maintenance preferences. Our goal is to deliver your dream hair while ensuring its health.

Let us help you discover the perfect highlighting technique for your ideal look, with a focus on personalized care and professional expertise.

  • Foil highlights involve coloring sections of hair and isolating them with foils. This technique allows us to use various shades for effects ranging from subtle to dramatic, depending on the number of foils and colours chosen. Foils ensure an even colour from roots to ends, making them a great option for significant colour changes, lightening by more than three shades, or incorporating multiple hues and depths.

  • Baby-lights are ultra-fine highlights placed around the hairline to mimic natural sunlight. They are often paired with balayage to create a smooth blend around the face.

Foils generally need to be redone every 6-8 weeks. This timeframe can vary based on several factors, including how quickly your hair grows, the contrast between your natural colour and the foiled shades, and your desired look. Regular touch-ups help maintain the brightness and prevent noticeable regrowth lines. If you’re aiming for a more natural look or prefer less frequent maintenance, you might extend this timeframe..

Micro foils are a hair colouring technique where very thin sections of hair are highlighted using smaller foil pieces. The goal is to create a more subtle, natural-looking effect compared to traditional highlights. Micro foils are often used to add dimension, blend hair colors, or create a soft, sun-kissed look without the harsh lines that can sometimes appear with larger foil sections. This technique is great for clients who want a more blended, seamless finish or to add some brightness without a dramatic contrast. It works particularly well for fine or delicate hair types! This can create a full head foil look of fine foils packed close together weaved or spliced.

  • Balayage

Balayage, which means "sweeping" in French, is a freehand coloring technique where lightener is painted onto the hair in sweeping strokes. This approach produces natural-looking, sun-kissed highlights, with more color concentrated on the mid-lengths and ends and feathered up towards the roots. The result is a "lived-in" look with a softer grow-out.

The color blends seamlessly into your natural roots, creating a beautiful gradient. Typically, balayage lasts around 3-4 months. However, this duration can vary depending on your natural hair colour, the products used, and your at routine.

Foillage combines the balayage technique with foiling to achieve even lighter and brighter results.

  • Lowlights involve a similar process to foils but use darker shades to add depth and dimension. This technique is ideal for balancing out overly highlighted hair or adding tonal variation to prevent a too-blonde appearance.
